Environmentalism has taken center stage in our community. When some enterprising kids told us they wanted to help the environment, Hill House was happy to serve as their headquarters, and we watched proudly as they collected and cancelled over one thousand unwanted catalog subscriptions. Their determination inspired us, and this paperless Annual Report is one result of that inspiration.
On the other hand, we have watched the economic downturn with no enthusiasm. The situation prompted us to host our recent Family Night, and as the year progresses, we will bring you other fun, low-cost opportunities to get together. The economy has also prompted us to watch every dollar we spend. So, we went electronic with the Annual Report, and something tells me we won’t go back.
This was a fantastic year for Hill House. Our programs and community events continued to grow, and we made a conscious effort to strengthen the connection between those activities and Hill House’s long-standing commitment to community service. We also sought to re-invest the fruits of our growth in ways that will allow us to serve all of you better.
